Nature's Classroom Fun by John Baluch

Nature’s classroom is at Silver Bay, NY on Lake George and that’s where the sixth graders of Lisha Kill Middle School will be from March 31 to April 3. The students that will be going will be participating in a series of events that are taking place outside. Most of the activities that will be taking place will be team building exercises for example getting a kid from your field group through a giant (fake) spider web.

In the mess hall, whatever you don’t eat goes into a bin and that leftover food is called ort. Each day the students will be trying to reduce the amount of ort . Sometimes there will be special prizes, for example on time one of the counselors offered to jump in the freezing lake as a reward I heard from the presentation. There will be lots of messy activities in the mud. I myself checked the forecast for the days that we will be there and it will be rainy and the temperature will be mid- forties into the low- fifties. It will be messy and we will not be allowed to wear shoes in the inn.

The place we will be staying in is a regular old inn that is about 100 years old. When we are not there it will be a regular hotel. Also we will be taking a hike up a mountain all the way to the top. Sometime we will be taking that hike at night.
Well that is all I know about Natures Classroom and im sure we’ll have a great time.

Natures Classroom Prep by Joey Audi

Today is March 30th, a day before our Natures Classroom trip. Everyone in 6th grade that wants to go to Natures Classroom gets to go and if you choose not to go you get to stay back at school and do fun activities like our class is making “candy sushi.” But I’m going to talk about Natures Classroom. On Tuesday which is tomorrow everyone that is going to Natures Classroom has to be there at 8:30a.m and are asked to leave their entire luggage on the tennis courts, so we can load the buses and be all set. All of my friends and I are really excited and can’t wait until tomorrow. The buses are going to be really nice they are Yankee Trail buses with really nice chairs and T.V.’s so you can watch movies. The luggage goes underneath the bus so we have more room on the bus to just talk to your friends and sleep because I know I’ll be sleeping right away. When I get to Natures Classroom I don’t think I’ll sleep much because ill be way too excited! I better get going because I haven’t even packed yet!

The Day Before By Meaghan Podlaski

Today is our “prep” day for Nature’s Classroom. Everyone in the sixth grade hasn’t probably had their minds on school all day, it’s probably been on this trip up north. Most of us have been counting down for this trip since the beginning of the year. Some of us may look as today as the day we have to make sure we have everything packed, ecertera. However our friends who aren’t going on this trip are probably thinking about how much fun Soctia Glenville is going to be or how fun making “candy sushi” in social studies is going to be.

Tomorrow we are departing to go to Nature’s Classroom for four days. We all are meeting to go to Nature’s Classroom at 8:30 a.m. I do think it will be nice to be riding a Yankee Trails bus to Nature’s Classroom then being stuck inside an unconfortable school bus.

I do like the way we are packing everything up in our bus, too. Our teachers thought of the idea that we should tie a specific color of yarn to our bags. This is supposed to help us find our baggage later. Our colors of yarn are seperated by section.

Tonight most of us students going on the trip will probably not be able to sleep because of our excitement. (I don’t think I’ll get much sleep tonight, so I’m probably going to say this in general, your friends, classmates, children, siblings will probably have very short intentions tomorrow.) Overall, I think we all will have a great time at Nature’s Classroom tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, and the beginnig of Friday. So we will miss everyone who is missing us.
